NEW!! BAND CAMP

Under the direction of Maloney High School Band director, Brian Cyr, this brand new Specialty Camp will teach campers the ropes of what it takes to participate in a band.  Offered during Session 2, campers will learn band skills during the morning and participate in traditional camp activities during the afternoon.  This camp is open to campers who have completed Grades 5-12.

Under the direction of Mountain Mist’s own Joel “J-Drop” Robinson, this brand new Specialty Camp will teach campers the skills to write, perform, and record their own Hip Hop Raps. Offered during Session 4, campers will receive a CD of all the hip hop tracks by all of the registered campers at the end of the session.  This program is open to campers who have completed grades 6-12.

Under the direction of Mountain Mist Day Camp’s own Vin Parete, this brand new Specialty Camp will allow campers to fish New Dam and Black Pond, as well as a special trip to the Salmon River at the end of the session.  This program is open to campers who have completed Grades 3-8 and will take place Sessions 2 and 3.  Campers will need to provide their own fishing poles, line, and hooks.

Under the direction of Stevens Elementary School 5th Grade teacher Chris Stone, this brand new Specialty Camp will teach campers science in a fun way.  Campers will learn about aeronautics, the solar system, and build and launch their own rocket!  Offered during Session 4, this program is open to campers who have completed Grades 3-8.

Under the direction of Mountain Mist Day Camp’s own fitness guru Lauren Brechlin, this brand new Specialty Camp will specialize in physical fitness for girls who have completed Grades 3-8 and will take place Sessions 1 and 3.  Campers will have the opportunity to work out at the Meriden YMCA and participate in specially tailored Zumba Classes, our newest fitness craze! Campers will also have the opportunity to create the Mountain Mist Work-Out Video!

Under the direction of Mountain Mist Day Camp’s own aspiring journalist Danny Brechlin, this brand new Specialty Camp will specialize in creating and publishing Mountain Mist’s very own newspaper.  Campers will have the opportunity to write their own stories, take photographs, and publish their own articles about the happenings at camp.  This program will be available for campers who have completed Grades 3-8.
