Mountain Mist Day Camp Extreme Specialty Camps

Program Description:
This camp will be offered during Session 2. Campers will construct a project under the direction of Mike Murphy, a science teacher at Nonawaug High School and Mountain Mist Alum. In the past, Mike has built a replica tee pee and hovercraft! This year's project will be a surprise and it is sure to be a lot of fun! Campers will construct their project in the morning and participate in traditional camp activities in the afternoon. Campers will be sent a list of necessary items to bring daily prior to the beginning of the session.

Program Description:
This camp is specifically designed for campers who are into skateboarding and will be offered during Session 3. Campers will learn the basics of skateboarding and will visit different state parks in the local area daily. Campers will learn to skate in the morning and participate in traditional camp activities in the afternoon. The session will culminate with a trip to an indoor state park into North Haven. Campers must supply their own skateboard, helmet and pads.

Program Description:
This camp is specifically designed for children interested in extreme sport of Rock Climbing. This program will be offered during Session 4 and campers will spend their morning climbing on Pigsy Peak, the CAT, and our very own 250 foot Zip Line. In the afternoon, campers will culminate with a special trip to Mountain Fun, an indoor climbing gym. This program will be instructed by Matt Went, Mountain Mist's Ropes Course Director.
